We felt like "50 years of accumulation, square dance dresses and small size shoes" sounded intriguing even though it did not say "estate sale" and neither of us has a small size foot. What we walked into was a small piece of vintage clothing heaven. Now, for those of you who see a lot of 60s and 70s clothes, this would have been piddling, but for us, it was fantastic! We were so excited, pulling out this dress and that scarf. We felt like Grace at a Barney's sale! She got a couple of dresses for herself and I had a pile of things to, hopefully sell.
Then we went into the man's bedroom. I was right! Men never throw anything away! Shirts from the early '60s to the '70s. We'd look at the shirts and choose them if we thought a rocker guy would like it. I had a substantial pile of cool, men's shirts. Then we moved to the lady's shoe closet and the man's ties. My daughter was keeping an eye on our stuff and several times had to shoo people away. They kept trying to get the ladies, '60s coat I'd found. (We thought someone had slipped one of her dresses out of her stack, but found out later the thief was me.)
We each collect vintage Christmas decorations and found quite a few of those. I spent all my money at that one sale and even had to borrow $20 from her. I have to say, it was about time I found something worth buying. Just remember, the more empty sales you go to, the closer you get to finding the treasure.
I'm not sure how soon I'll auction the clothes. It could be a while. They'll need to be washed and ironed. Ugh.
Today I went to one of my favorite junk stores. This place is HUGE! I took some fuzzy pictures that give an inkling of the size.
This first picture is one side of the back. The other side is clothes. Funny, I've never noticed the things hanging from the ceiling before.

Ummmm....I don't think I'll tell y'all where it is. Not yet. If you're real good, I'll share the location with you some day. If you live around here, you probably recognize it anyway. It's a great place to hunt. You always have the feeling there's something good and desirable hiding in there.
Oh! I've just got to share the story of the nekkid man, but I'll do that another day.
